CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Head softball coach Jennifer Finley, after hiring assistant coach Jill Kaworski to her staff last week, announced the addition of two more coaches; assistant coach Jenna Busa and volunteer assistant coach Kristin Allain early this week.
"I'm very excited to have both Jenna and Kristin as new members on our staff," said Head Coach Finley. They both share tremendous experience, passion and knowledge of the game and will be great assets to the BC program."
Assistant coach Busa graduated from Massachusetts in 2006 with a degree in Sports Management. She was a four year letter-winner with the Massachusetts softball team. As a pitcher, she finished her career with a 42-12 record and combined ERA of 2.56. She compiled a total of 18 shutouts and 301 strikeouts. Originally from Waltham, Mass., Busa also played four years of softball, ice hockey and field hockey at Lexington High School.
Allain joins the softball staff after graduating from BC in 2006. A four year letter-winner for the Eagles from 2003-2006, Allain played mostly third base. After BC, Allain played a year with the New England Riptide, a national women's professional fast pitch softball team. There she played with head coach Finley, and won the National Pro Fast Pitch Championship in 2006. Originally from Worcester, Mass., Allain was a four-time Central Massachusetts Conference All-Star for Notre Dame Academy in Worcester.
The new coaching staff will make its debut when the softball team begins their fall action on Sept. 29 in a tournament with Harvard and Boston University.
