In addition to its 27-game conference schedule, Boston College will play Michigan, host North Dakota and make two tournament trips to Minnesota, according to the schedule released by the school.
The Eagles open the season on Friday, Oct. 12 against the Wolverines in the first game of a four-team Ice Breaker Tournament at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn. The consolation and championship games take place the next night. Participants also include RPI and Minnesota.
The home portion of the schedule will begin the following Friday (Oct. 19) against North Dakota. Last April, the Eagles defeated the Fighting Sioux in the NCAA semifinal in St. Louis. The two teams have met six times in the last nine years in the national tournament.
BC plays its first of 11-straight league games at Vermont on Sunday, Oct. 21, and closes its six-game October schedule at Merrimack on Oct. 27.
November's seven-game league slate begins with a home contest against Maine on Friday, Nov. 2. One week later, the Eagles host Merrimack, then travel to New Hampshire (Nov. 10). Following a home-and-home series against Massachusetts, BC hosts Northeastern on Nov. 23. Boston College and Boston University renew one of the oldest college hockey rivalries with a two-game series at the end of the month. The Eagles host the Terriers on Nov. 30 for a nationally-televised game on CSTV at 8 p.m., then travel to BU on Saturday night (Dec. 1).
Eleven days later, BC plays at Harvard in a mid-week contest on Dec. 12.
Boston College will play its final two games of the 2007 calendar year on Dec. 29 and 30 in the Dodge Holiday Classic at Mariucci Arena in Minneapolis, Minn. BC and Air Force are scheduled to square off on Saturday, Dec. 29 in game one, while RIT will face tournament-host Minnesota in game two. The winners and losers of each game will face one another on Sunday, Dec. 30.
The team will play its seventh non-league game at Clarkson on Jan. 5, before resuming Hockey East play with a two-game home series against Vermont (Wednesday, Jan. 9 and Friday, Jan. 11). Each of the next two Friday road games - at UMass-Lowell on Jan. 18, and at Maine on Jan. 25 - will be televised by NESN and will face off at 7:30 p.m.
February's nine-game schedule - seven conference contests and two Beanpot games - begins on Friday, Feb. 1 with a home game against Providence. BC and BU will play each other for the fourth time in 2007-08 in the first round of the 56th annual Beanpot in TD Banknorth Garden on Monday, Feb. 4 at 8 p.m. on NESN.
Following the Beanpot consolation and championship the following Monday, BC will play four straight Hockey East home-and-home weekend series. In each of the four conference match-ups - UMass-Lowell (Feb. 15 & 16), New Hampshire (Feb. 22 & 23), Providence (Feb. 29 & March 1) and Northeastern (March 7 & 8) - the Eagles will be the home team on a Friday night and travel to their opponents' rink on a Saturday.
Quarterfinals of the annual Hockey East Tournament will be held at campus sites from Friday, March 14 to Sunday, March 16, while the semifinals and championship are set for Friday and Saturday, March 21 and 22 at TD Banknorth Garden.
