Men's Soccer Chosen Seventh In ACC Preseason Poll

Boston College men's soccer has been selected to finish seventh in the 2007 Atlantic Coast Conference preseason poll, as determined by a vote of the league's nine head coaches. Virginia Tech finished tied with the Eagles for the seventh spot in the poll.
Head coach Ed Kelly returns 15 letterwinners and eight starters from last year's team. BC finished the 2006 season with a record of 8-7-2, including a 3-3-2 mark in ACC play.
Duke received the conference's top pick with 78 points. Wake Forest was chosen to finish second by the coaches with 66 points. Virginia rounded out the top three with 59 points.
Completing the preseason poll in order of projected finish are North Carolina (52), Maryland (50), Clemson (35), Boston College (24), Virginia Tech (24) and NC State (17).
BC will play exhibition contests against Southern Connecticut State (Aug. 20) and Northeastern (Aug. 24) at Newton Campus Field before opening the 2007 regular season at Boston University on Saturday, Sept. 1.
