Volleyball Drops Game to Binghamton

NEWARK, Del. - The Delaware Invitational was not kind to the Boston College volleyball team as they lost to the Bearcats of Binghamton, 3-0, Saturday evening. The Eagles lost all three games over the two day tournament.
The loss drops BC to 0-3 on the season, while Binghamton picked up their first win of the year, improving to 1-2.
Sophomore Taylor Williams had an excellent game for the Eagles, registering a double-double. Williams recorded 15 digs, 13 kills, and four service aces during the evening contest.
Freshmen Cathy Quilico and Audrey Eichler also contributed strong performances against the Bearcats. Quilico totaled 17 digs, while Eichler connected on 11 kills.
The Eagles lost the first game, 30-21. The second and third games were back and forth battles that the Bearcats were able to win. In game two, BC never fell behind by more than four points but unable to take the lead from Binghamton, losing 30-27.
Game three was the closest the Eagles came to victory against the Bearcats. BC tied the score at 30 with Binghamton, but could not score another point, falling 32-30.
The next game for BC is on Thursday, Aug. 30, when the Eagles host Northeastern as part of the Boston College/Northeastern Invitational. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
