Boston College Freshman Advances to 800m Semifinal at NCAA's

CHESTNUT HILL, MA - Boston College freshman Caitlin Bailey capped off a successful outdoor track season by advancing to the semifinals of the 800 meters at the 2007 NCAA Division 1 Track and Field Outdoor Championships in Sacramento, Calif.
Bailey, a native of Oakville, Ontario, ran in Heat 2 on the first day of competition. She placed fifth in her heat and qualified with a time of 2:06.72.
In the semifinal round, the top eight advanced to the final round. Bailey missed the final by a second as she posted a time of 2:05.18, a new personal best for the indoor and outdoor seasons. It is also the second all-time best time in the program's history. The Eagles 800m record was set in 1990 by Gail Harris with a 2:04.09.
