Six Boston College sailors earned All-NEISA conference honors at the conclusion of last weekend's conference championship regatta. Junior skipper Reed Johnson, and sophomore skippers Brian Kamilar and Adam Roberts each gained All-NEISA first-team honors. Crews Julie Howe and Andrew Schneider captured All-NEISA first-team accolades, while senior team captain Alyson Whitehead was named to the All-NEISA second team.
For Howe, the award felt well deserved - for her and all her teammates.
"This means a lot to me personally. I've been working hard for the last three years and to be recognized feels great," Howe said. "And the fact that so many of my teammates were recognized as well shows how deep our team is. I'm very proud of that and proud to be part of a team with so many talented athletes."
Following the announcement of the All-NEISA Coed Team, Roberts was named by his peers as one of three finalists for NEISA Sportsman of the Year.
"This means a lot to me," Roberts said. "I feel like it's an even bigger achievement for me than being on the All-NEISA Team. It has always been a goal of mine. The fact that it's selected by my competitors makes it even more important to me. I'm absolutely honored to be a finalist."
The coed sailors join junior Emily Flint, and sophomores Lily Beck, Leigh Kempton and Martha Pitt, who were named to the All-NEISA Women's Team two weeks ago, making for a record total of 10 BC Sailors receiving All-Conference honors.
