Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College men's golf team took eighth place at this weekend's Cavalier Classic hosted by the University of Virginia. Once again, junior Bob Reed led the Eagles, finishing tied for tenth place in the 55-golfer field.
Reed shot a blistering 69 (-3) on day one, finding himself in second place at that point, trailing only eventual winner Drew Younts from UNC-Greensboro. Reed's day one 69 was one of only five sub-70 rounds shot throughout the three-day tournament. Reed followed up with a 78 (+6) on day two and a 77 (+5) on day three to slip into tenth-place with a three-day total of 224 (+8). Nonetheless, Reed was once again the Eagles finest performer.
Junior Alex Snickenberger shot a 229 (+13) for the weekend, tying him for 25th place overall. Snickenberger shot a very impressive 71 (-1) on day two.
Freshman Jan Prokop finished tied for 35th with a 16-over total of 232. Junior James Granello (243, +27) and junior Nick Lawler (245, +29) finished 48th and 49th, respectively.
