DURHAM, N.C. - After splitting a doubleheader at home last Sunday, the Eagles took to the road for Easter weekend and dropped a 7-0 decision to 16th-ranked Duke University Friday evening at the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center, improving the Blue Devils to 8-1 on their home courts. With the loss, the Eagles fall to 4-15 overall and 0-8 in ACC play, as Duke now controls the all-time series with BC, 2-0.
The Blue Devils came out strong in doubles competition, taking all three matches. At No. 1, the fifth-ranked duo of senior Joey Atas and junior David Goulet downed Alex Rastorgouev and Sam Wagner, 8-2 while junior Ned Samuelson and freshman Dylan Arnould combined for an 8-4 win over Brian Garber and Soma Kesthely at the No. 2 spot to clinch the point for Duke.
At No. 3, Geoff Mueller and Thomas Nolan battled but dropped a 9-7 decision to sophomore Kiril Dimitrov and senior Peter Rodrigues. The Blue Devils did not have any trouble on the singles side as they took all six matches to account for the 7-0 final score.
