Eagles Run At ACC Championships

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Freshman Caitlin Bailey led the Eagles in this weekend's Track and Field Championships, finishing second overall in the 800 meter event. On Friday, Bailey recorded the fastest time of the day (2: 07.67) in qualifying for the eight-runner final. In the finals on Saturday, she ran essentially the same time (2:07.75), but finished second to UNC sophomore Brianna Felnagle (2:04.93).
Junior Tiana Riel finished third overall in the heptathlon with 5200 points. The six team points she earned for the Eagles were second only to Bailey's eight.
Freshman Jessica Driscoll reached the finals in the 1500 meter with the third-fastest qualifying time (4:34.02). She then finished ninth in the finals.
Senior Kristen Coon earned team points with her sixth-place finish in the 3000 meter steeplechase.
Junior Nikki Tufts finished ninth in the 5000 meter run with a time of 16:55.46.
In the end, the Eagles finished in 12th place in the event won by Virginia Tech.
