Chestnut Hill, Mass.--The Atlantic Coast Conference announced the pairings on Sunday evening for the ACC Women's Lacrosse Championship taking place April 26, 27 and 29 on the campus of the University of North Carolina. As the fifth-seed, Boston College will face the fourth-seeded Virginia Cavaliers on Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. on Fetzer Field.
Virginia just defeated the Eagles on Saturday, 13-6. Boston College finished with a 1-4 ACC record and a 5-9 overall record.
This is the second straight year in which the Eagles face the same opponent in the final game before the ACC Championship and then also in the quarterfinals. Last year, Boston College played Maryland on April 22 in Newton before falling to the Terps in the quarterfinals, 21-8, on April 27 in Baltimore, Md.
Maryland claimed the top seed for the first time, while No. 2 Duke, No. 3 UNC and No. 6 Virginia Tech round out the field. North Carolina and Virginia Tech will play in the first quarterfinal on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. The championship to be aired on NESN will be played on Sunday, April 29 at 1:00 p.m.
All-tournament ticket prices begin at $20 for students and youth, and $25 for adults. Single day prices are $8 for students and youth, and $10 for adults. For groups of 20 or more, tickets are $6 for a single day and $15 for the whole tournament.
