Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College women's golf team competed in the ACC Championships this past weekend. The tournament, held at the Carmel Country Club in Charlotte, North Carolina, was won by Duke for the twelfth consecutive year. The Eagles were not particularly successful, finishing in ninth place in a nine-team field.
Freshman Meghan Martinek led the Eagles with a three-day total of 245 (+29). Her second-day score of 76 (+4) was the best Eagle-shot round of the weekend. Right behind Martinek were sophomores Katie Napleton and Lara Smilnak at 248 (+32).
No one came close to the Lady Blue Devils, who finished 35 strokes ahead of second place Wake Forest.
The women's golf team will be in action again this weekend (April 21-22) at the Massachusetts State Championships in Amherst, Mass.
