Men's Hockey Announces 2007-08 Captains

Defenseman Mike Brennan will serve as captain of the 2007-08 Boston College hockey team and goaltender Cory Schneider and forwards Dan Bertram and Matt Greene will serve as assistant captains, according to an announcement made by Eagles' head coach Jerry York.
All four players are now completing their junior years and will lead the team as seniors.
Brennan played in all 42 games in his junior season and registered 11 assists. He finished second among defensemen with a rating of +15. The Smithtown, N.Y., resident has played in all 124 games since his arrival at Boston College in the fall of 2004.
Bertram finished the 2006-07 season as the Eagles' second-line center, while Greene centered the team's third line. Bertram tallied 25 points on eight goals and 17 assists in 40 games. Greene, a Plymouth, Mass., resident, totaled eight points - five goals and three assists - in 39 games.
Schneider has played in 99 career games and is 66-26-7 with a 2.09 goals against average and a 9.25 save percentage. He was a first-team All-American as a sophomore and played in all 42 games during his junior campaign. The Marblehead, Mass., native, went 29-12-1 with a 2.15 GAA and a .925 save percentage.
Schneider set a BC single-season record with 1111 saves this winter. He is the school's career record holder for shutouts (15).
Boston College finished its 2006-07 season with a 29-12-1 record. The Eagles advanced to their seventh Frozen Four in 10 years. BC defeated North Dakota in the semifinals and fell to Michigan State in the national championship game.
