
Women's Tennis Defeats San Diego

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - After dropping their first two matches in Las Vegas, women's tennis bounced back with a 5-2 win this afternoon over the University of San Diego. This is the first time that the Eagles have defeated USD. With the win, BC improves to 4-5 while San Diego falls to 2-8.
The Eagles would win the doubles point, sweeping the Toreros in all three matches. The number one tandem of Dasha Cherkasov and Alina Sullivan had no trouble as they would rout the duo of Wiesener/Vogt 8-1. BC's No. 2 and No. 3 duos both had tough matches but earned 9-7 and 9-8 decisions respectively.
On the singles side, sophomore Lana Krasnopolsky got back on the winning track as she easily defeated San Diego's Monica Wiesener, 6-2, 6-1. Cherkasov would also win her singles match for the Eagles, handily defeating Helene Lindstrand, 6-3, 6-3. Lauren Cash and Brittany Delaney also picked up wins for BC, sealing their 5-2 victory.
The Eagles are off until Friday, March 9, when they will take on Clemson University at the Weymouth Club in Weymouth, Mass. at 7:00 p.m.
