Dudley, Rice Earn All-ACC Basketball Honors

Boston College senior Jared Dudley gained All-Conference first-team honors and sophomore Tyrese Rice captured All-ACC second-team honors, according to an announcement made by the Associated Press in conjunction with the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association.
Dudley was joined on the first team by North Carolina's Tyler Hansbrough, Florida State's Al Thornton, Virginia's Sean Singletary and Virginia Tech's Zabian Dowdell. Dudley earned All-Conference second-team honors last year.
Dudley, Hansbrough and Thornton were unanimous first-team selections.
Rice was joined on the second team by Duke's Josh McRoberts, Maryland's D.J. Strawberry, North Carolina's Brandan Wright and Virginia's J.R. Reynolds. Rice captured ACC All-Freshman Team honors last winter.
Rice was the eighth-leading vote-getter in the conference.
Dudley averaged 19.5 points and 8.4 rebounds per game in league action. He led all ACC players in minutes played, averaging 38.88 minutes per league game. The San Diego, Calif., resident also ranked among league leaders in: field-goal percentage (second), defensive rebounding (second), rebounding (third), scoring (fifth) and offensive rebounding (sixth).
Rice averaged 17.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game in league action. The Richmond, Va., resident ranked among ACC leaders in assists (third), scoring (fifth) and assist-turnover ratio (eighth).
Boston College (19-10, 10-6 ACC) returns to action on Friday, March 9 against either Maryland or Miami in the ACC Tournament's quarterfinal round. Game time is 2:30 p.m. in the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa, Fla.
