
Women's Tennis Falls To Furman

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Women's tennis dropped their third straight match yesterday, 5-2 to the Furman Paladins in Las Vegas. The loss drops the Eagles' overall record to 3-4 while Furman improves to 2-7.
Furman earned the first point of the match, earning 8-3 victories at number one and number two doubles. Dasha Cherkasova and Alina Sullivan would fall at the top spot to sophomore Laura Gioia and junior Natasa Manojlovic, while Lauren Cash and Brittany Delaney would fall by the same score to senior Jacqueline Eckert and junior Lauren Osborne.
Furman would post singles wins in straight sets at number one, five and six. Sophomore Lauren Cash fell to senior Bonnie Baird in a tiebreaker, 6-3, 6-7, 1-0 (5) at the No.3 position. Fellow classmate Lana Krasnopolsky would also fall to Laura Gioia, who has lost only one spring singles match, 6-3, 6-2. Sophomores Dasha Cherkasov and Alina Sullivan would pick up wins for the Eagles at the No. 2 and No. 4 positions.
