Kasey Hill capped off a spectacular indoor track and field season with an unprecedented accomplishment at last weekend's NCAA Championships. The senior captain became the first female in Boston College history to be named All-American in a field event, as she finished eighth in the country in the pentathlon.
Hill was strongest in the 60m hurdles event (8.60s) and high jump (5-5 ¼). Both events marked personal bests for Hill. Hill also turned in her second-fastest time in the 800m (2:15.06). Hill's other events were the long jump (18-1) and shot put (40-2). Hill's total of 4,073 points in the event broke her own school record for the fourth time this season.
Hill, a native of Montgomery Center, Vt., will compete in the heptathlon during the outdoor season this spring. Last spring, she set a new school record in that event, and will look to improve on her mark this season. She is the school record holder in both the pentathlon and heptathlon, and also resides in the top-five all-time for the 55m hurdles, 100m hurdles, shot put, 200m, long jump, and javelin.
