PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Less than 24 hours after defeating Columbia, women's tennis traveled to Providence today where they defeated the Bears of Brown University 5-2. The win is the Eagles' second in as many days and improves their overall record to 3-1. Brown falls to 0-1.
BC got strong performances from the top of their singles lineup as they would win the first four singles positions without dropping a set. Sophomores Dasha Cherkasov, Lauren Cash and Alina Sullivan all remained undefeated in dual match play as they would solidify three points for BC.
On the doubles side, the No.1 duo of Cherkasov and Cash had little trouble with Kelley Kirkpatrick and Emily Ellis, earning an 8-3 decision. The Eagles would again sweep the competition as all three tandems would earn victories, giving them their fifth point of the day.
BC next plays on Sunday, February 11 when they take on the Maryland Terrapins in their first ACC match of the season at 10:00 a.m. in College Park, Md.
