COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Coming off two wins in a row, the Eagles looked to keep their winning ways going as they traveled to Maryland, but dropped a 5-2 decision to the No. 33 ranked Terrapins of Maryland yesterday afternoon. The loss drops the Eagles to 3-2 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
Sophomore Lana Krasnopolsky continued her strong season, handily defeating Eleanor Peters of Maryland 6-2, 6-2, improving her overall singles record to 13-4. Freshman Brittany Delaney also earned a win, defeating Maggie MacKeever in a close 6-1, 5-7, 1-0 (14-12) decision. Unfortunately, these would be all the points BC would get as Maryland would easily win the remaining singles positions.
On the doubles side, the doubles tandem of Delaney and Nafarrete fought hard but dropped an 8-5 decision to Lisa Miller and Elyse Steiner of Maryland, giving the Terps one of their three doubles wins.
The Eagles return to action on Friday, February 23, when they travel to New Haven, Conn. to take on Yale at 4:30 p.m.
