
Women's Tennis Falls At Yale

NEW HAVEN Conn. - After nearly two weeks off, women's tennis traveled to Connecticut yesterday afternoon looking to bounce back from their loss to Maryland, but dropped a 5-2 decision to Yale University. With the loss, the Eagles fall to 3-3, while Yale improves to 3-4.
Yale would grab the doubles point as they would win at the No.2 and No. 3 positions. Allina Sullivan and Lana Krasnopolsky fought hard but dropped an 8-6 decision to Sarah Lederhandler and Jessica Rhee. Meanwhile, Janet Kim and Christina Cutter had no trouble at the No. 3 position as they defeated. Gia Nafarrete and Brittany Delaney 8-1
On the singles side, the Bulldogs would win No.'s 1, 2, and 3 singles, giving them enough points to earn the victory. Sophomore Lana Krasnopolsky fell to sophomore Janet Kim 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, while freshman Sarah Lederhandler earned a tough win at No. 2 singles defeating sophomore Dasha Cherkasov 1-6, 6-3, 6-2. Sophomores Alina Sullivan and Sarah Svoboda earned BC's only two points.
The Eagles will look to get back on the winning track when they next take on Furman on Saturday, March 3 at 10:00 a.m. PT in Las Vegas, Nev.
