Senior Britney Thompson earned her first win on the mound as Boston College defeated Jackson State, 11-3, at the Georgia State Tournament in Atlanta. The Eagles open the season at 1-0.
Thompson, a native of Bountiful, Utah, struck out nine, let up only four hits in the win. She also went 3-for-4 at the plate with three RBI, three runs scored and a home run.
Senior Jenna Macchi went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Freshman Amy Tunstall, a native of Yorba Linda, Calif., made her debut in an Eagles uniform and went 3-for-3 at the plate with two RBI.
