CHESTNUT HILL, MA - Boston College is 9-3 coming off a victory over Maine, 68-56, on December 22. The Eagles were led by freshman Stefanie Murphy with 21 points and nine rebounds and freshman center Carolyn Swords with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Colgate (1-11) comes to Conte Forum after losing to Cleveland State, 60-34 on Dec. 21. Sophomore Laura Grimm and freshman Evan Librizzi led the Raiders with six points apiece.

Kathrin Ress led the Eagles with 23 points and 10 rebounds, while Mickel Picco added 13 points ... The first time the two teams played was on December 9, 1995 ... Pam Bass is in her first season at Colgate. Bass is a 1992 graduate of Brown University and was formerly the head coach at Longwood University for one season. Prior to Longwood, Bass was an assistant coach at Brown.

Sophomore Mickel Picco has hit seven three-pointers in the last two games. She is 7-for-16, shooting 44 percent from the arc. Picco had two against Maine on Dec. 22. She broke her own personal high of four three's in a game when she hit five from beyond the arc against La Salel on Dec. 16. Picco now has a team leading 17 this season and 38 career three-pointers.

Senior Victoria Jones has started a career-high nine games, including the last eight. She has also recorded at least one assist in every game this season ... The Eagles have out-rebounded all 11 teams they have played. BC has a +15.3 rebounding margin on opponents ... Sophomore Ayla Brown and freshman Carolyn Swords are the only two players to have started every game this season ... Seven weeks into the season Boston College has owned the ACC Rookie of the Week award as Stefanie Murphy has four consecutive honors and teammate Carolyn Swords earned the honor the first week of the season. Murphy is still short of the BC record set by Becky Gottstein when she earned six Big East Rookie of the Week honors in the 1998-99 season. Holly Porter notched five Big East ROW honors in the 1993-94 season. Murphy is No. 2 in scoring (19.1) and rebounding (11.2) in the ACC, while Swords is 12th (15.4 ppg) in scoring and fifth in rebounding (8.7) ... BC is No. 1 in the ACC in rebounding margin at +16.2. The Eagles have out-rebounded all 12 opponents this season ... The Eagles are also No. 2 in the ACC in assists average at 18.60, behind North Carolina (19.91).
