Volleyball Earns Two ACC Selections

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Senior Kelsey Johnson earned Second-Team All-ACC honors and freshman Audrey Eichler was selected to the ACC All-Freshman Team, the conference announced Tuesday.
The award marks the second year in a row that outside hitter Kelsey Johnson earned All-ACC Second Team honors. Johnson finished her career as the BC all-time kills leader with 1,455. She placed third in the conference in points-per-game (5.13) and kills-per-game (4.47) along with finishing seventh in aces-per-game (0.36). Her top performance of the season came in a 3-1 victory vs. NC State when she recorded a career-high 31 kills.
Johnson joins Jeannette Abbot, Leslie Mansfield and Meghan Steiner of Clemson, Rachel Moss of Duke, Makini Thompson of Florida State, Ulrike Stegemann of Georgia Tech, Jade Brown of Maryland and Brianna Eskola of North Carolina on the All-ACC Second Team.
Middle hitter Audrey Eichler averaged 2.68 kills-per-game and 0.84 blocks-per-game in her first season in the ACC. Eichler earned ACC Player of the Week on Sept. 4, for her performance in the Boston College/Northeastern Invitational. During the four-match tournament, Eichler registered 53 kills with a .529 attacking percentage.
Joining Eichler on the All-Freshman Team is Michelle Kenning of Maryland, Katie Gallagher of Miami, Kendahl Voelker of Virginia, Felicia Willoughby of Virginia Tech and Kelsey Jones of Wake Forest.
The Player of the Year award went to Carrie DeMange of Duke. Virginia's Felicia Willoughby earned the Freshman of the Year award. Jolene Jordan Hoover of Clemson was selected as Coach of the Year.
The Eagles finished the season tied for eighth place in the ACC with an 8-14 conference record, 14-18 overall.
