Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Boston College juniors Bob Dirks and Julia Berkowitz earned Longstreth/NFHCA Division I All-America honors, according to the roster released Monday. Dirks was named to the first team for the second year in a row and Berkowitz was honored with third team for the first time in her three-year career. Both players earned All-Northeast Region first team and All-ACC accolades.
Dirks, a forward, led Boston College in points (38), goals (13) and assists (12). She was the only Eagle to have double-digit assist and goal totals. Dirks tied for 10th in the NCAA for points per game (1.95). She was second in the ACC for shots with 99 and tied for third in goals. She ranks fourth in points and fifth on the assist list.

Dirks also tallied at least one point in 14 of the team's 20 games. She scored two goals against four different teams, including No. 15 Duke, and had nine multi-point games, including racking up seven points against Sacred Heart.
Berkowitz, the Eagles' goalkeeper and a 2007 captain, recorded 108 saves and a 1.60 goals-against average in 1,354 minutes. She held the team's 12-8 record and registered a .777 save percentage, which ranked 18th in the NCAA. She ranked second in the ACC for saves and third for GAA. Berkowitz tallied a career-high 17 saves in the 2-0 loss to undefeated North Carolina on Oct. 13 in Chapel Hill, N.C. Her 10 saves in the 3-2 overtime loss to No. 19 Virginia earned her All-ACC tournament honors as well.
