Men's Soccer No. 3 In First RPI Rankings

Boston College men's soccer is ranked No. 3 in the NCAA's initial RPI rankings of the 2007 season.
Wake Forest, the nation's top-ranked team according to the Soccer America poll, is first in the RPI. Northwestern is No. 2 in the RPI poll.
The Eagles are one of five ACC teams ranked among the RPI's top 20 schools, along with No. 10 Virginia Tech, No. 14 Maryland and No. 18 North Carolina.
The Eagles fell to Providence 1-0 on Tuesday (Oct. 16) night and are 7-3-1. BC has a 4-0-0 mark in ACC play and travel to Virginia for a league match on Friday, Oct. 19. Game time in Charlottesville is set for 7 p.m. and a video broadcast is available over the internet at accselect.com.
The ranking of all 202 teams was generated on Oct. 15.
The RPI -- Ratings Percentage Index -- is used by the NCAA to determine which teams will receive at-large bids into the NCAA tournament following the regular season.
