Could Be a Record-Breaking Weekend

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - No. 12 Boston College gets set to battle cross-town foe Northeastern and regional-rival Dartmouth this upcoming weekend. Not only will fans get a chance to see well-played field hockey, they may also witness record breaking games.
Junior forward Bob Dirks and senior forward Crystal Frates are both on pace to break Boston College's career goals and points records.
Former Eagles Kim French (1999-2003) and Andrea Durko (1994-97) hold the record for most career goals with 42. Dirks currently sits on 39, tying her with Sara York (2002-05) in fourth place. Frates has racked up 37 goals in her four year career, ranking her sixth. Joy Ramsbotham (1995-98) scored 100 points in her BC career, yet Dirks is in a close second with 95. Frates currently ranks sixth with 82 career points.
Both Dirks and Frates rank on BC's single-season goals and points list. Dirks scored 19 goals in 2006, which tied for third on the all-time list. Frates graces the list twice, once in 2006 (tied for sixth;14) and 2005 (ninth; 13). Dirks scored 42 points in 2006, tying for fourth on the single-season points list and Frates notched 35 points, ranking her sixth.
BC holds a 5-15 all-time record against Northeastern, winning the last three consecutive meetins. In the 2006 matchup, four current Eagles notched goals. Chelsey Feole, Caitlin McGovern, Katie Quaglia and Dirks were four of the five goal scorers in the 5-2 victory. Frates recorded an assist in the win and junior goalie Julia Berkowitz tallied five saves.

The Eagles are 3-1 against the Dartmouth Big Green, winning the last match-up in 2006. In the matchup, Quaglia and Ayelen Peralta recorded assists, while Caitlyn Young and Dirks netted goals. Frates tallied three points on a goal and an assist.
Boston College will return to Newton Campus Turf Field on Wednesday, Oct. 17 to play its final regular season home game against Harvard at 7 p.m.
