Women's Golf Competes in Nittany Lion Invitational

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - The women's golf team traveled to Penn State University and took 9th place in the Nittany Lion Invitational held on Sunday, Sept. 30 and Monday, Oct. 1.
The Eagles competed against 13 other universities and were led by senior Katie Napleton, who tied for 25th, shooting a 241 over three rounds. Sophomore Megan Martinek was B.C.'s second-place finisher, tying for 35th with a 245. Lara Smilnak came close behind, rounding out the team's top-three performances. She shot a 246 and placed 38th.
The team shot a combined 977 over the three rounds. Princeton took top honors in the invitational, shooting a combined 910. Laura Baivaird of Western Michigan placed first in the event, shooting a 223.
The women will continue fall competition at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship held Oct. 5 through 7 in Williamsburg, Va.
