Chestnut Hill, Mass.--In a weekend where the Boston College women's ice hockey team picked up a tie and a win against a pair of strong ECACHL teams, many Eagles put up solid numbers, and Hockey East picked out freshman Kelli Stack (Brooklyn Heights, Ohio) from the crowd as the Rookie of the Week.
Stack, who also received the award the week entering the winter break, scored her fifth goal of the season and tallied her team-leading 15th assist in a 4-4 tie with sixth-ranked St. Lawrence at Kelley Rink on Friday afternoon. The next day, the freshman tacked on another goal, the eventual gamewinner, in a 5-0 shutout of Clarkson. Stack also took a combined 11 shots on goal in the two games to lead all Eagles.
With 21 points, the Ohio native is third on the team in points and second among freshman. Stack averages 1.11 points per game for the nation's ninth best in that category among rookies.
The Eagles (12-5-2, 6-3-0) host the Northeastern Huskies Tuesday night in a Hockey East match-up at Kelley Rink. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
