Also competing this weekend were female multi-event athletes, Tiana Riel and Kasey Hill at
Hill earned 3865 points in the Pentathlon at the Clemson-NCAA provisional qualifier, while Mellea ran the 3000 meter with a time 8:05.94 at the Terrier Classic. Mellea's time is good for No. 5 on the All-time BC list. It is the fastest 3k time in over a decade at BC.
Down the road at Northeastern, the women would collect five wins, including a first place finish in the women's distance medley. Freshmen Caitlin Bailey, Gretchen Andrus and Jessica Driscoll, and senior Kristen Coon would all earn wins for BC in their respective events. In addition to winning the 400 meter dash, Bailey would also finish four of 49 in the 200 meter.
Also earning top-five finishes for the women were freshmen Ariel Hazzard, Samantha Gawrych, Christine Sullivan, as well as juniors Jennifer Heyde, Mary Heitkamp, and seniors Jessica Flinn and Julie Regan. 15 Eagles would earn top-five finishes by days end.
On the men's side, the Eagles earned eight top-five finishes, which included placing second in the men's distance medley and third in the 4x400 meter relay.
Sophomore Timothy Ritchie would place third out of 45 in the 800 meter run and sophomore Patrick Viklund would finish second overall in the 55 meter hurdles.
