Football And Volleyball Receive Sportsmanship Awards

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Atlantic Coast Conference announced today the recipients of the 2006 Fall Sportsmanship Awards and Boston College was the recipient for both football and volleyball. This marks the second consecutive year that volleyball has received this award.
The conference presents sportsmanship awards for each of its 25 sponsored sports. Teams receiving the awards have conducted themselves with a high degree of character and good sportsmanship, as determined by a vote of the league's players and coaches.
Five schools - Boston College, Duke, Maryland, Miami and Virginia Tech - were recognized by their peers as the sportsmanship award winners for the league's seven sponsored fall sports. Two-time NCAA field hockey champion Maryland and Boston College each garnered two awards.
