Volleyball Falls To Uconn

Storrs, Conn. - Senior Allison Anderson registered 39 digs and senior Dorota Niemczewska played a strong match with 21 kills and 14 digs but BC lost a gripping five game match against the University of Connecticut at the Uconn Volleyball Classic. With the loss, the Eagles fall to 0-4 on the season while Uconn remains undefeated.
With neither team winning a game by more than five points, the Huskies and Eagles battled back and forth with Uconn taking games one, four and five and BC capturing games two and three.
BC held a two games to one advantage entering game four and were knotted at 13-13 midway through the contest. But Uconn rattled off seven consecutive points and were able to close out the Eagles 30-25.
In a shortened game five, the Eagles were able to close within 14-13, while holding serve. But the Huskies were able to hang on after an attacking error from BC ended the game.
Freshman Kate Seabaugh led Uconn with 17 kills while junior Gina Heiderman added 12 of her own. BC junior Kelsey Johnson continued her strong play, adding 15 kills and 16 digs,
The Eagles will try to bounce back quickly as they next play Northern Illinois, Saturday, September 9, at 10:00 a.m.
