Oxford, OH. - After dropping the first two games to the Red Hawks, the Eagles fought hard pushing Miami University to five games winning games three and four by the same score of 30-25. But, the Red Hawks jumped out to a quick lead in game five and were able to hold off the Eagles 17-15 in the final match of the Miami University classic.
The Red Hawks got out the gates quickly in game one as they scored the first three points of the match. They would soon extend their lead to 11 points, 29-18 after a kill by sophomore Emily Schroeder. The Eagles would cut the lead to 29-20 after a kill and block by Junior Kelsey Johnson. But another kill from Schroeder would end game one for the Red Hawks 30-20.
