Volleyball Falls Short In Season Opener

Oxford, OH. - Junior Kelsey Johnson had 17 kills and 16 digs and Allison Anderson registered 19 digs of her own but the Eagles fell short dropping a tough fifth game 16-14 against Belmont University to open their season.
The Eagles and Bruins alternated wins the first four games with Belmont taking games one and three and BC games two and four. But in a shortened game five, the Bruins held on to capture their fourth win and remain undefeated on the season.
With Senior co-captain Allison Anderson serving, BC held a 13-12 advantage in the deciding game. But, the Bruins tied the match with a kill by sophomore Cat Mundy, one of her 16, and never looked back.
Belmont got on the board first taking the first game 30-23 but the two teams see sawed the remaining four games with neither team leading by more than five points at any given time.
The Eagles will look to rebound quickly as they take on Western Kentucky University tomorrow at 10:00am. Belmont will look to stay undefeated as they next face Miami University (OH).
