Cross Country Announces 2006 Schedule

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College men's and women's cross country teams have announced their 2006 schedule. Boston College will open the season on September 15 hosting the Boston College Invitational held at Boston's Franklin Park. The Eagles will then travel to Amherst on September 23 for the University of Maine and University of Massachusetts Invitational. Boston College will round out the month at the Iona Meet of Champions on September 30.
In October, the Eagles will run in the New England Championships at Franklin Park, the NCAA Pre Meet held at Indiana State University, and the Mayor's Cup, also at Franklin Park. Boston College will then compete at the ACC Championship, which is hosted by the University of Virginia on Saturday, October 28. The men and women placed ninth and fourth, respectively, in last year's competition.
The runners will then head to the NCAA Northeast Regionals held at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx on November 11. The women's cross country team captured the regional championship last season, while the men finished ninth.
Mark Alizzi and Stephen Walsh will serve as the men's cross country captains, while Jesse Mizzone and Kathleen Smyth will lead the women's squad.
