Four Hockey Players Earn AHCA All-America Honors

Senior forward Chris Collins, senior defenseman Peter Harrold and sophomore goalie Cory Schneider captured 2005-06 All-America first-team honors and junior forward Brian Boyle earned All-America second-team honors, according to an announcement made by the American Hockey Coaches Assciation (AHCA).
Boston College (26-12-2), which faces Wisconsin in the national championship game on Saturday at 7 p.m. in Milwaukee's Bradley Center, placed three players on the All-America first team for the first time since the 1999-2000 season, when Brian Gionta, Jeff Farkas and Mike Mottau each were named to the All-America first team.
Collins, a Hobey Baker finalist, has registered a career-high 63 points - 34 goals and 29 assists - in 41 games this season. He is tied for the national lead in goals. Collins garnered Hockey East Player of the Year honor as he captured the regular-season scoring title, notching 39 points - 18 goals and 21 assists - in 27 league games.
The Fairport, N.Y., resident was recently named the recipient of the 2006 Walter Brown Hockey Award, given annually to the most outstanding American-born player in New England.
Harrold has 30 points - seven goals and 23 assists - in 41 games this season. He captured Hockey East's Best Defensive Defenseman award as well as all-league first-team honors. The Kirtland Hills, Ohio, resident gained Hockey East All-Tournament team recognition and was selected to the NCAA Northeast Regional All-Tournament team.
Schneider enters the national championship game with a 24-12-2 record, a 2.11 goals against average and a .928 save percentage. He recently captured NCAA Northeast Regional MVP honors after posting consecutive shutouts of Miami (March 24) and Boston University (March 25). Schneider has recorded school records in shutouts (eight) and saves (1,051) this season.
The Marblehead, Mass., native tallied a 16-8-2 record and posted a league-low 1.96 GAA en route to All-Hockey East second-team honors.
Boyle has tallied a career-high 52 points - 22 goals and 30 assists - in 41 games this season. The Hingham, Mass., resident recently captured NCAA Northeast Regional All-Tournament team honors. Boyle earned Hockey East first-team honors after posting 33 points on 18 goals and 15 assists in 27 regular-season games.
