Chris Collins, Peter Harrold Collect New England Hockey Honors

Seniors Chris Collins and Peter Harrold attended the New England Hockey Writers Dinner in Saugus on April 13 and left the dinner with a host of awards. After guiding the nation's youngest Division I team to 26 wins and a spot in the national championship game, the pair's achievements were duly recognized.
Collins, who had already received All-America honors, captured three major awards from the New England hockey writers - the Paul Hines Award (Most Improved Player), the Herb Gallagher Award (Top Forward) and the Leonard Fowle Award (Most Valuable Player) - and the Walter Brown Award. The prestigious Walter Brown Award, sponsored by the Gridiron Club of Greater Boston, recognizes the best American-born player in New England.
Previous BC winners of the Walter Brown Award include Brian Gionta (2001), Mike Mottau (1999 and 2000), David Emma (1991), Greg Brown (1990), Brian Leetch (1987) and Jerry York (1967).

Collins, a senior forward from Fairport, N.Y., registered 63 points - 34 goals and 29 assists - in 42 games this past season. The 2005-06 Hockey East Player of the Year, he won the league scoring title with 39 points - 18 goals and 21 assists - in 27 conference contests. Collins was one of three finalists for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award.
Harrold received the New England Writers' Award as the region's Best Defenseman. The senior, who tallied 30 points this past season, had previously gained All-America honors as well as Hockey East's Best Defensive Defenseman award.
In addition, Collins, Harrold and teammates Brian Boyle and Cory Schneider were selected to the hockey writers' All-New England Team.
