Smith, Dudley, Rice Earn All-ACC Honors

Boston College senior Craig Smith earned All-ACC first-team honors, junior Jared Dudley gained All-Conference second-team honors and freshman Tyrese Rice captured ACC All-Freshman Team honors, according to an announcement made by the Associated Press in conjunction with the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association.
Smith was joined on the first team by Duke's J.J. Redick and Shelden Williams, North Carolina's Tyler Hansbrough, and Virginia's Sean Singletary. Smith earned Big East first-team honors as a sophomore and junior.
Dudley was joined on the second team by Florida State's Al Thornton, Miami's Guillermo Diaz, Wake Forest's Justin Gray and North Carolina's David Noel. Dudley captured Big East first-team honors in 2004-05.
Smith averaged 17.5 points and 9.3 rebounds per game in 16 conference contests this season. The Los Angeles, Calif., resident ranked among league leaders in seven categories: scoring (tied-seventh), rebounding (third), field-goal percentage (third), offensive rebounding (tied-seventh), defensive rebounding (second), assist-turnover ratio (10th) and minutes played (third).
Dudley averaged 16.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per game in league action. He led all ACC players in minutes played, averaging 38.1 minutes per league game. The San Diego, Calif., resident also ranked among league leaders in: field-goal percentage (10th), rebounding (tied-11th), scoring (12th), offensive rebounding (fourth) and assist-turnover ratio (fourth).
Rice averaged 8.1 points, 1.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game in league action.
Boston College (24-6, 11-5 ACC) returns to action on Friday, March 10 against either Maryland or Georgia Tech in the ACC Tournament's quarterfinal round. Game time is 9:30 p.m. in the Greensboro (N.C.) Coliseum.
