
Women's Rowing Falls to Clemson in Spring Opener

LAKE HARTWELL, S.C. - The Boston College women's rowing team fell to Clemson on Saturday, March 11. The rowing squad's week-long practice at Lake Hartwell, S.C. culminated with its season opener against ACC foe Clemson.
Clemson topped BC in both varsity eights and both varsity fours. Clemson's first varsity eight finished in 6 minutes 56.5 seconds while BC's boat raced in 7:03.4. The Tigers' second varsity eight finished in 7:12.6 as the Eagles completed the race in 7:24.2.
Both Clemson varsity four crews finished ahead of the Eagles' varsity four boats. The Tigers posted times of 7:43.1 and 7:46.0. BC's crews finished the race in 7:56.3 and 8:09.9.
The Eagles finished 4.5 seconds behind Clemson in the novice eight race.
The rowing team returns to action on Saturday, March 18, in the Jesuit Invitational in Camden, N.J. Last spring, BC had three first-place boats in the event.
