
Women's Tennis Sweeps Brown

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College women's tennis team was in fine form, defeating their second consecutive Ivy League opponent by sweeping Brown 7-0 in Providence, R.I.
Szilvia Szegedi was dominant in the No. 1 position, taking down the Bears' Daisy Ames 6-1, 6-0. The rest of the Eagles followed suit with five of the six singles matches ending in straight sets. Lindsey Nash fell behind 0-6 in her match with Kara Zeder, but rallied brilliantly to complete the shutout for BC.
The four freshmen for the Eagles also contribued a victory and now are a combined 11-0 on the young season.
On the doubles side, Lana Krasnopolsky and Dasha Cherkasov cruised to an 8-2 win, while Szegedi and Alina Sullivan were just as strong, winning 8-1 and capping off the sweep.
The Eagles will be back in action Friday at 4 p.m. against Sacramento State.
