
Women's Tennis Takes Down #37 Sacramento State 6-1

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College women's tennis team knocked off the No. 37 Sacramento State Hornets in impressive fashion, winning 6-1 in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
Szilvia Szegedi remained undefeated on the season by beating the No. 82 ranked player Margarita Karnaukhova 6-4, 1-6, 6-2. Dasha Cherkasov blitzed Luba Schifris 6-1, 6-0, while fellow freshmen Lana Krasnopolsky and Alina Sullivan won at No. 3 and 4 singles. Junior Lindsey Nash picked up the fifth win for the Eagles, beating Svetlana Pimenova in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4.
The doubles tandems of Krasnopolsky and Cherkasov, and Szegedi and Sullivan won 8-6 to earn the point and give the Eagles a 6-1 win.
BC is now 4-0 this season, having won 22 of 24 singles matches.
The Eagles will play their first-ever ACC match Sunday against No. 30 Maryland at 6 p.m. in the Murr Center at Harvard University.
