Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Boston College sailor Adam Roberts has qualified for the 2006 US Sailing Team in the 470 Class. A freshman from San Diego, Roberts turned in an impressive performance at the Miami Olympic Classes Regatta to secure a berth on the US squad by virtue of his third place finish among Americans. The top five Americans in the 470 Class were selected to the US team. After finishing up the spring season at Boston College, Roberts will begin racing for the US this summer in Germany at Kiel Week.
Two former members of the Boston College Sailing team also took top honors at the Miami Olympic Classes Regatta. Howe's team won the Yngling class and remain the top ranked team in the US, while Spaulding's 49er team is also the top ranked US team in the 49er class and finished third in Miami.
