Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Boston College co-ed sailing is on top of the national polls once again. After their victory at the Rose Bowl Regatta, the first intersectional of 2006, the Eagles jumped from No. 6 to No. 1 in Sailing World's collegiate rankings. Cross-town rival Harvard remains No. 2 while Hawaii remained third.
The Eagles co-ed squad spent six weeks at No. 1 during the fall season, earning the program's first-ever No. 1 ranking on October 7. Next up for the Eagles is the Bavier Team Race in Charleston, SC, on February 25.
The women's sailing team, previously ranked No. 13 in the nation, fell on spot to No. 14. The return of senior skipper Maura Winston and sophomore skipper Leigh Kempton should bolster the squad when they return to action with a home regatta on March 25.
