Volleyball Places Three on All-ACC Academic Team

Greensboro, N.C. - Three Boston College volleyball players: Allison Anderson, Verena Rost and Morgan Woodcock, were among 31 student-athletes, including 10 who received All-Conference recognition this past season, named to the 2005 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Volleyball Team as announced today by the league office.
Boston College was among six ACC schools that placed three student-athletes on the squad.
Junior Allison Anderson was one of the student-athletes on the team that also garnered All-Conference honors this past fall. Co-captain Anderson earned first-team All ACC honors as well as receiving 2005 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division I All-Region honorable mention after leading the Eagles and league in digs per game (5.90). Anderson is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences as a Political Science major.
Fellow co-captain, senior Verena Rost also earned all-ACC academic honors. The senior setter led the team with 10.21 assists per game in 2005. Rost is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences as an Elementary Education major.
And the third Eagle to be honored by the league was junior Morgan Woodcock. Woodcock is currently in the Graduate School of Education while concentrating in Curriculum Instruction and Geology. Woodcock led the Eagles in blocks in 2005 with 84
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.
