Three Cross Country Runners Named to All-ACC Academic Teams

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Three Boston College cross country student-athletes were honored by the Atlantic Coast Conference as members of the All-ACC academic teams. Sophomore Patrick Mellea, senior Laurel Burdick and freshman Nichole Lister were listed among the honorees.
Sophomore Patrick Mellea, a finance major, was BC's top runner in the Northeast Region championship with a 35th place finish out of 232 runners. Earlier in the season, Mellea earned ACC cross country Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 10. Mellea was the top finisher for the Eagles in four of their eight meets during the fall season.
All-America Laurel Burdick, an elementary education and Nichole Lister, an environmental geological science major, also made the team on the women's side. Burdick finished 30th at the NCAA championship meet on Nov. 21. Lister, a freshman out of Rodman, N.Y., also competed at the NCAA championship and her highest finish came at the New England Championships when she placed sixth overall.
