Ress entered the game needing one point to reach 1,000 career points. The Eagles would play the final 7:46 without Ress on the floor when she picked up her second foul. The Black Bears cut into the lead when they outscored the Eagles, 9-5. The run allowed Maine to be down by only six at the half, 21-15.
Just two minutes into the half Maine tied the game at 21-21 on a lay-in by Lindsey Hugstad-Vaa. Boston College came out of a timeout and went on a 15-3 run. Ress and freshman Ayla Brown each scored four points in the offensive spurt by the Eagles.

Boston College shot 60 percent in the second half. BC also out-rebounded Maine in the game, 40-27.
