
Men's Basketball Wins Exhibition Game

Senior Sean Marshall scored a game-high 22 points and freshman Shamari Spears netted 20 points to lead Boston College to a 111-65 exhibition victory over St. Francis Xavier in Conte Forum.
Six Boston College players scored in double figures. Joining Marshall and Spears were Jared Dudley (16 points), Marquez Haynes (15), John Oates (15) and Tyrese Rice (10).
Dudley led all rebounders with nine, while Rice led the way with nine assists.
Boston College shot 68.6 percent from the floor in the first half to gain a 65-34 advantage at the intermission. The Eagles never allowed the X-Men to make a run, shooting 55.9 percent in the second half.
BC sank 11 three-point field goals, including nine in the first half. Haynes and Oates each made three treys.
Game Notes: BC outrebounded St. Francis Xavier, 39-29 ... The Eagles shot 14-for-15 from the foul line. Dudley and Spears each shot 4-for-4 ... BC was credited with 33 assists on 43 baskets ... BC recorded nine steals. Dudley and freshman Daye Kaba each made three steals.

Junior center Sean Williams and junior forward Akida McLain did not play in the exhibition game. Both have been suspended from the basketball team for a violation of team rules. Williams will miss the season's first two regular-season games, while McLain will be eligible to return after nine regular-season games.
