Greensboro, N.C. - The Atlantic Coast Conference announced the recipients of its postseason volleyball awards today, and senior co-captain Allison Anderson has been named to the 2006 All-ACC first team. This marks the second consecutive year that Anderson has received this honor. Selected by the conference's 12 head coaches, a total of 18 players were named as first and second-team All-ACC honors.
"I am extremely excited for Allison, the team and the program itself," head coach Andrea Leonard said. "This really is a credit to the hard work and effort she has put in this year along with all of her teammates supporting her throughout the season. Allison has set a bar that will inspire and encourage those who follow in her footsteps. She truly is a unique person that has impacted us all in a positive way. Anytime you have a player of that caliber, it only brings out the best in the rest of her teammates and the future of the program."

She led the Eagles and the ACC with 5.54 digs per game, and also posted a 6.09 digs per game average in conference play, which also led the league.
