Cross Country's Ahern and Champa Named ACC Performers of the Week

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Boston College cross country swept the ACC Performers of the Week as Cory Ahern and Mallory Champa were honored for their efforts at the New England Championships.
Sophomore Cory Ahern was honored on the men's side as he helped lead the Eagles to a second place finish at the New England Championships against 44 other colleges and universities last weekend. Ahern was the Eagles' top runner, placing sixth overall and crossing in 24:54 at the 8k event.
Classmate Mallory Champa was named conference performer of the week for the women. Champa was fifth overall with a time of 17:34 in the 6k event. She led Boston College to a fourth place finish against 45 competing schools at the New England Championships. The race was held at Franklin Park in Boston.
This is the second time this season that Boston College has had a performer of the week, as junior Patrick Mellea was honored the week of September 18.
