Raleigh, N.C. - After losing a pair of road matches last weekend, the Eagles took to the road again and bounced back earning a 3-1 victory last night over North Carolina State. With the win, BC pulls even in conference play while the Wolfpack remain winless.
Despite not having won a conference match, NC State pushed the Eagles in what would be a close four game contest. After losing a tough game one by the score of 30-28, the Wolfpack responded quickly breaking out to an early 16-9 lead and never looked back holding on for a 30-24 game two victory.
The tables would turn in game three as it was the Eagles who jumped out to the early 11-6 lead. NC State would pull within two, 15-13 after a block assist by Aiwane Iboaya and Jessica Williams. But, BC would rally winning six of the next eight points and would pull away for the 30-19 game three win.
The Wollfpack would not go away as they lead the Eagles by scores of 15-11 and 18-13 in game four. Trailing 22-16, BC would show resiliency winning 14 of the next 18 points to close out NC State for an impressive 30-26 win.
NC State got a strong performance from sophomore Jessica Williams who registered 16 kills and 11 digs. Sophomore Keshia Raibon also played well tallying 12 kills and seven digs.
Junior Kelsey Johnson had a match-high 22 kills and freshman Taylor Williams added 10 kills of her own to lead the Eagles on offense. Senior Allison Anderson was again solid registering a match-high 29 digs.
BC will look for back-to-back wins as they travel to Chapel Hill, N.C. to take on the Tar Heels tonight at 6:00 p.m.
