Boston College junior forward Charlie Davies has earned Atlantic Coast Conference Men's Soccer Player of Week recognition after recording 12 points - five goals and two assists - in victories over Quinnipiac and North Carolina State last week.
Davies scored two second-half goals and added an assist at Quinnipiac last Tuesday. The Manchester, N.H., native netted a hat trick plus one assist in leading BC to a 5-1 home conference victory over the N.C. State Wolfpack on Friday en route to Player of the Week recognition.
Davies has registered 27 points -- 11 goals and five assists -- in 10 games this season.
Currently, Davies leads all ACC players in six offensive categories -- shots (55), shots per game (5.50), points (27), points per game (2.7), goals (11), and goals per game (1.10). He is tied for first in the league in game-winning goals with four.
Davies' 11 goals is the highest single-season mark for a BC player since All-American Casey Schmidt scored 11 times in 2002. Davies is one point shy of tying the school's single-season record of 28, which is shared by Schmidt (2002) and Brian Siracusa (1993). He is two goals shy of tying the school's single-season record of 13 set by Charlie Mundhenk in 1970.
Boston College's overall record is 6-4-0. The Eagles are 2-2-0 in ACC play. Next, BC hosts Brown on Tuesday at 7 p.m. BC returns to conference action at Wake Forest on Friday at 7 p.m.
