Juniors Leigh Kempton and Emily Flint with sophomores Martha Pitt and Lily Beck finished third at the Yale Women's Intersectional and qualified as the seventh ranked women's team for the Atlantic Coast Championships, to take place in early November. The intersectional event was one of the most competitive of the season, with 11 of the top 15 nationally ranked women's teams among the field of 21.
The Yale Intersectional was the first of three qualifiers for the Women's Atlantic Coast Championship. The coed team had already qualified for its Atlantic Coast Championship event by winning the first qualifier, the Danmark Trophy, three weeks ago.
In coed competition, sophomores Parker Dwyer and Allie Nagle, with seniors Spencer Powers and Brooke Dow, finished third at the Wood Trophy Intersectional at Dartmouth. Elsewhere, the Eagles posted wins at the Lane Trophy Team Race at Tufts and the Norm Reid Trophy at Boston College. The Eagles finished third at the weekend's Metro Series.
The women's team will sail for the Stu Nelson Trophy this weekend at Connecticut College. The coed team heads to Brown to defend its 2005 Hoyt Trophy victory.
